Professional Bio
My name is Matt and I am an MBA candidate at Johns Hopkins' Carey Business School. In my time as an Engineer Officer with the Army Reserve, I developed my leadership skills leading soldiers. I also have experience in managing the Department of Public Works for a military installation overseas and acted as a Contracting Officer's Representative, ensuring the key elements of the contract were followed. In my civilian career, I have experience managing financial operations of projects, developing budget estimates, tracking invoices, and preparing monthly financial reports and projections. I hope to use what I have learned to make an impact in local communities. Through the CityLab course, we are learning to improve neighborhoods in the cities we live in. The focus of my current project is on the New York Avenue Gateway neighborhood in Ward 5 of Washington, D.C.
